Only use the source package if you know you want to build from source or if there are no packages for your distribution (or your distribution doesn't ship the latest version of gPodder). You have to install the build dependencies in order to successfully build gPodder on your system. If you want to provide a gPodder package for the distribution you use, get in touch!
Also, most of the time it's better to run gPodder directly from the source
tree with bin/gpodder instead of installing it on your
system with make install. Installing gPodder by hand alongside
a packaged gPodder version can lead to strange errors related to different
versions of gPodder modules being used together.
